St. Paul, Minn. — Engineering/architecture companies Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH) and Yaggy Colby Associates signed a definitive agreement to merge the two companies. The signing of the official merger agreement followed the approval to merge from the Board of Directors of both companies. The combined company will operate as SEH and will be led by Sam L. Claassen, P.E., who will serve as CEO/President.
“This merger brings together two great companies filled with talented professionals,” said SEH CEO/President Sam Claassen, P.E. “I applaud the work of Robert Ellis and the entire Yaggy leadership team to help make this merger successful. We look forward to building upon their key successes in southeastern Minnesota, northern Iowa and eastern Wisconsin.”
In addition to new territory, the merger provides the opportunity to offer greater depth of resources and expertise in the infrastructure, environmental, water, transportation and the construction/development markets. “Our work together will enable us to bring more resources to our clients, and deliver the level of satisfaction and innovation clients have come to expect,” Claassen said. “We look forward to leveraging the talents of both companies for the benefit of our clients, our employees and ultimately for the world around us.”
The company is headquartered in St. Paul, Minn. and will now employ 700-plus professionals in nine states — Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming. The merger provides the firms’ public and private clients access to more resources and technical capabilities.
In conclusion, Claassen said, “We look forward to integrating these two great companies and proceeding together on a path towards becoming an even stronger organization. We are excited for the many excellent opportunities ahead to support our clients, develop our people, grow our business and achieve our vision of Building a Better World for All of Us.”
