FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. — The American Concrete Institute (ACI) will broadcast three live webinars from its Fall Convention in Pittsburgh. All webinars are free to viewers who register in advance at www.concrete.org/Convention/Fall-Convention/Webinar.htm.

On Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. EDT, the ACI Sustainability Forum III will provide attendees with insight on the current world situation in regards to sustainability and concrete construction. This forum will reflect on the development of standards and provide attendees with knowledge and resources to identify opportunities in their careers and business to reduce environmental impact and contribute to a concrete industry focused on sustainability.

On Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, Sustainable Design with Concrete, Parts 1 & 2 will be presented from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. EDT, respectively. With growing emphasis on sustainable design in construction, it is important to understand how concrete’s strength, versatility, and other attributes contribute to sustainable projects. These two sessions will provide real world examples and applications of concrete materials, practices, and specifications that contribute to sustainable design.

Professional Development Hours (PDHs) can be earned in these webinars as well as other ACI sessions by filling out a session attendance tracking form and submitting it to state boards that allow self-reporting of continuing education activities. An online session attendance tracking form is available on the webinar registration page to track attendance. A separate session attendance tracking form is available in the convention program book for those physically attending sessions in Pittsburgh.

The American Concrete Institute’s (ACI) Fall 2010 Convention will take place Oct. 24-28, 2010, in Pittsburgh, at the Westin Convention Center Hotel & David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
