Online drain basin design
Advanced Drainage Systems Inc.—€™s online Basin Configurator automatically designs a Nyloplast drain structure. Entering minimal information enables the proprietary software to customize a basin for any project. Input sections include type of pipe, basin diameter, and details for each branch including diameter, angle, plus invert height. The program then provides a drawing and list of components that can be ordered immediately or saved in the user—€™s private account.

Fabric buildings
ClearSpan Fabric Structures provides design-build solutions for wastewater facilities, covered sludge beds, and more. ClearSpan Hercules Truss Arch Buildings feature high clearances without support posts. These fabric buildings are outfitted with frames constructed from USA-made, triple-galvanized structural steel. Rip-stop polyethylene covers let natural light shine through, eliminating the need for daytime artificial lighting. Every building is custom engineered to fit the requirements of the specific location, such as snow load or foundation type.

Mid-range total stations
Leica Geosystems introduced a new generation of its mid-range series of total stations, Leica FlexLine plus. According to the company, Leica FlexLine plus total stations provide distance accuracy on prisms of 1.5 mm + 2.0 ppm, and measure on any surface (non-prism mode) with an accuracy of 2.0 mm + 2.0 ppm. Angle measurements are compensated with quadruple axis compensation. The FlexLine TS09 plus features a color touch screen that allows quick access and fast navigation through all settings and functions by a simple touch on the status icon bar and tabs.

Concrete pile profiler
Pile Dynamics Inc.—€™s Thermal Integrity Profiler (TIP) is used to evaluate concrete foundations such as drilled shafts and augered cast-in-place piles. It gives information on the integrity and as-built shape of the tested foundation, as well as on the alignment of its reinforcing cage, by measuring the temperature of the concrete during the cement curing process. TIP measurements are taken with a reusable thermal probe that is lowered into specially built tubes built into the foundation, or with Thermal Wires tied onto the reinforcing cage prior to concreting.

Treatment for rooftop runoff
StormwateRx LLC introduced Aquip Downspout for removal of zinc and other heavy metals from stormwater running off of zinc-coated or galvanized metal roofing or HVAC equipment. According to the company, installing Aquip Downspout on a building with galvanized roofing can permanently reduce zinc concentrations by 98 percent. Each Aquip Downspout treats up to 10,000 square feet of roof area. The system requires no power, uses no chemicals, and has no moving parts. It includes both external and internal high flow bypasses.

Turbidity sensor
Electro Chemical Devices Inc.—€™s (ECD) new Triton TR6 Sensor measures turbidity or suspended solids in four selectable dual ranges featuring pre-set low and high ranges from 0 to 4,000 NTU. It provides turbidity measurement in milligrams per liter (mg/L), parts per million (ppm), and percent solids to volume depending on the size, shape, and composition of the suspended solids in the water. The sensor can be combined with ECD—€™s two-channel C22 Analyzer to monitor pH, ORP, DO, conductivity, pIon, and more
