International Roofing Expo a major gathering

Whether you're a contractor or architect, a product manufacturer or a technology rep, the 2012 International Roofing Expo is the must-attend event for anyone involved in the roofing industry.

At this event, roofing professionals, builders, replacement contractors, remodelers, owners, managers, consultants, architects, and designers will learn how to stay abreast of market trends and cutting-edge technology. The International Roofing Expo is the place to connect with manufacturers, suppliers and industry contacts in an exhibit hall filled with a wide range of multi-dimensional products, services, technologies and innovations. The exhibitors represent the full range of the newest products from every major product category, and give attendees the option to see, experience and compare. The event's educational program includes 43 sessions covering technical topics, workplace safety, leadership/management, green building, legal/HR, money matters, sales/service and general business practices.

The event takes place Feb. 22-24 in the South Hall A at the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando.

Show features
Major points of interest at the International Roofing Expo include the sustainability pavilion, the product showcase, metal marketplace, exhibitor product clinics and live demonstrations on safety, technology and business services. Other educational opportunities include expert-led seminars packed with management and financial advice.

The Sustainability Pavilion, formerly The Renewable Energy Pavilion, is a designated area on the show floor for education and resources related to this segment of the roofing industry. At this location, attendees can learn about the benefits of products that foster the use of renewable energy, including solar, green/eco-friendly, photovoltaics, vegetative, roof-mounted wind turbines, day lighting, geothermal and other sustainable products. Additionally, a two-day series of 30-minute product demonstrations will take place with a question and answer session to follow.

Exhibitors
More than 290 exhibitors were assigned space in an early space draw, including companies such as 3M, GAF, ABC Supply, Johns Manville, OMG, Owens Corning, Air Vent, BASF, Metalforming, Englert, Polyglass, Dataforma, Malarkey Roofing Products, Carlisle, CertainTeed, USG and Eagleview Technologies. Inquiries and booth reservations have continued to pour in, assuring a full attendance of manufacturers, distributors and representatives of all sizes displaying products, services and equipment for the roofing industry.

"We have been part of this show since the 1950s," said Jimmy Yundt, president and CEO of Roofmaster Products Company, in a release. "We consider it to be the best show with the target audience for our equipment and tools."

The show is seeing resurgence in attendance. Acme Cone, ISP Minerals, Vanguard, 4C's Spray Equipment, A.C.T Metal Deck Supply, American Weatherstar, and other exhibitors returned to the show after an absence of a year or more.

First-time exhibitors, including Airo Marketing, Extreme Weather Predictions, Elk River, DynoRaxx, Roofing Risk Advisors, NRCA Retirement Program, Global Wrap and QualCraft Industries, also entered during the space draw.

Unique opportunities
The 2012 International Roofing Expo is offering attendees and exhibitors a unique opportunity to give back to the Orlando community during Community Service Day Feb. 21. Volunteers and experts will gather to perform renovations to elderly, disabled or financially distressed families' homes.

The community service day is sponsored by Sika Sarnafil, roofing and waterproofing systems, and held in conjunction with NRCA's Disaster Relief Committee and the Central Florida chapter of Rebuilding Together.

The keynote address, to be held just before the opening of the show, will feature NASCAR legend and champion, Rusty Wallace. In his presentation, titled "Running a Winning Organization," Wallace will discuss how teamwork is pivotal to winning.
