Heavy-duty pumps

Watson-Marlow Bredel offers the heavyduty SPX peristaltic pump for environmental applications. According to the company, peristaltic hose pumps are virtually maintenance free with no expensive seals to replace, no check valves to clog, and no rotors and stators to wear out. The SPX self-priming pump accommodates flow rates as high as 350 gallons per minute (gpm) and withstands pressures as great as 232 psi.

Stormwater monitoring

Setra Systems, Inc., introduced its new Model 595 digitally compensated submersible pressure transducer. According to the company, the Model 595's integral specific gravity compensation gives a true level reading, even when subjected to media temperature changes ranging from 23 to 113 degrees Fahrenheit, making the unit ideal for stormwater studies, stream flow monitoring, infiltration/inflow studies, pump tests, and flood warning applications.

Stormwater chambers Cultec's Recharger 150 stormwater detention/retention chambers are constructed of high-density polyethylene and feature a built-in endwall on each chamber for strength and overlapping rib connections for a stronger connection between chambers. Each 8.5-foot-long chamber holds approximately 160 gallons. The Recharger 150 provides a storage capacity of 2.65 cubic feet per linear foot.

Floating solar circulator

The SolarBee SB10000 from Pump Systems, Inc., is a floating, solar-powered pond and reservoir circulator constructed of stainless steel and corrosion-resistant polymers. The 16-footdiameter unit draws as much as 10,000 gallons per minute of water from below and spreads it across the top of the reservoir for continuous renewal. According to the company, the SB10000's mixing action accelerates the biological and solar processes that clean up fresh water. Smaller models also are available.
